Barkbusters 2 Day BLITZ - Wrap up

Updated: Nov 20, 2019

The second Barkbusters BLITZ Navigation ride left City Coast Motorcycles on Saturday the 1st June.

With a mix of navigation devices, printed route sheets in tank bags and one rider practicing with a roll chart holder, riders set off for 570kms of adventure riding over 2 days, finishing in Bathurst on Sunday afternoon.

Everyone successfully navigated their way to a total of 23 waypoints and 6 checkpoints, except for one rider that had to cut his ride short.

There were a few missed turns, overshot corners and navigation errors, but after some on route changes to devices and installing different apps, mistakes disappeared and confidence increased making the whole weekend a lot more enjoyable.

There wasn't much hope stopping Trent from overshooting corners though, he had the 690 chasing the Wings award all weekend! And he got it too.

We weren't concerned about him getting lost at any time, it'd be easy enough to find him by following the skids and slides.

Richard added another spot to his claimed trails, he previously created Richard's Rise and on the weekend he added, the RedRutRev.

Day 2: 252 kms

Oberon to Bathurst

Day 2 started off a little colder, 1 deg at breakfast but we had clear skies and sunshine for almost the entire day.

The morning had us straight into some forest trails, gravel and dirt roads leading all the way to Wattle Flat just after midday.

Then it was off to Historical Hill End and to ride the Bridle Track.
